VA Medical Center Building 14 Renovation
Description
This project renovated and upgraded the HVAC and electrical systems in Building 14. The work included replacing the existing air handling units, exhaust fans, pressure reducing station, and reworking heat exchangers and hot water pumps. A 300 ton auxiliary chiller, redundant chilled water pumps and associated piping were installed to provide back-up cooling to the campus chilled water system. All pneumatic controls were converted over to DDC controls. A new electrical service was installed and a new 1,250kW generator was installed to provide back-up for the entire building. The existing power distribution system was reworked to incorporate the new emergency and normal power services in the hospital.
