NC State University AC-STEM Lab
NC State University’s new, $3 million, Aberration-Corrected Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (AC-STEM) required a environment with strict conditions concerning air temperature and velocity. Edmondson team member, Tripp Martin proposed the use of wall-mounted, radiant panels which allows precise control of the room’s temperature. When combined with a single displacement diffuser, the radiant panels were able to keep the facility regulated temperature with little to no air movement. Edmondson Engineers worked with Price Technical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
